No. Stars on Land is an independent travel agency. We book train travel operated by VIA Rail Canada on your behalf, but we are not VIA Rail and are not affiliated with or endorsed by them. You can also book directly with VIA Rail.
Do you book the train tickets for us?
Yes. We arrange the full rail journey, from the right departure and class of service to seats with a view. We show you the options and total price first, then book once you approve.
Do you charge a fee?
Yes, we charge a service fee for planning and booking. It's included in the total price we quote, and you see it before you pay.
Can you plan more than just the rail portion?
Absolutely. Most travellers ask us to pair their train with hotels, transfers, excursions and a few days at either end. We build around your pace rather than a fixed package.
How far ahead should we get in touch?
For sleeper cabins in peak summer and autumn, three to six months gives the best choice. If you're travelling sooner, call anyway — we're good at finding the next best option.
Can you change a ticket I bought from VIA Rail directly?
No. Bookings made directly with VIA Rail are managed by VIA Rail. We can help with anything you booked through Stars on Land.
